Humans…

Excerpt from One: The Last Prophet

(cleaned + tightened, keeping your voice and mythic cadence)

Humans—

exhausted from waking to the same reality each morning—

couldn’t resist the chance to fuse with avatars.

Even though they still could not reach Heaven.

But to stand at the gate—

to breathe the air near eternity—

was enough for them

and enough for their doubles.

Avatar to avatar.

Soul to soul.

Eye to eye.

Thus they made a pact with One:

Everything was going to be alright—

heart to heart,

love to love.

But a cost is always applied.

A cost is applied by the Council

for prowling near Heaven,

for any violation therein,

for entertaining sweet ideas

about One.

And the crows cawed—

in amazement.

////::::::::;;;

The Sanctuary of Dante is the waiting area midway—

where prowlers barter faith against destiny,

and most avatars gather.

Miss the ferry and you will sing,

sing-song praises to Hollywood goddesses and muses,

and send prayers toward Heaven

in the name of One.

Is there a mega-ego in the sky judging everyone—

good or bad, high or low, east or west?

No.

Jesus is a metaphor

for the vision of Christ:

a world where it truly means something

to be human—

to everyone.

It’s that simple.

“Value the work of architects and their designs,”

says the Baptist,

“for they are shaping the future.”

As desert lands turn to oasis—

where you might always bump into One—

furnish your walls with flattering images of him

as if you are expecting his company.

Greet him when you wake,

or when you sleep:

with a kiss, or a slap—

and watch how they do it in Heaven.

“Pretty candid dreams await, in favor of One,”

says the Baptist.

And the Muses sing:

Daughters of Earth—of Earth and avatar—sing.

Athletes and avatars praise working men and women,

for they too are champions—

and they will praise you back.

Working men and women—

Heaven is there for you too.

Heart to heart.

Soul to soul.

If you want, I can format this as a stage monologue + chorus response (so it can drop into your off-Broadway script cleanly), with the crows as a sound cue and “Sanctuary of Dante” as a set reveal.
